Position Overview The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois to perform routine housekeeping and laundry duties on a residential program unit on an assigned shift. Maintains unit equipment and furnishings, supplies, cleanliness of laundry equipment and laundry area. Reports any need for equipment repairs. Essential Functions Performs routine housekeeping duties on a residential program unit on an assigned shift. Performs routine laundry duties on a residential program unit. Maintains unit equipment and furnishings. Maintains cleanliness of laundry equipment and laundry area, including walls, floors, ceilings, and windows. Maintains supplies of cleaning equipment, materials, and tools. Maintains laundry equipment and reports need for repairs to supervisor. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
