Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description

As a phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients through various procedures, packaging these specimens for laboratory testing, and assisting with other lab procedures as needed. Your role will require proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups, including pediatric collections and difficult draws. A comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety is essential, as is the ability to communicate these principles effectively to colleagues. You will also provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.

• Review test orders.
• Draw samples from patients.
• Process specimens for laboratory analysis.

• Proficiency in blood draw and venipuncture techniques.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• CPT 1 License.
• Experience with lab systems, such as Cerner.
• Ability to draw 45-55 patients within an 8-hour shift in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to draw 20-30 patients within an 8-hour shift in an inpatient setting.
• At least six months of experience in acute or sub-acute settings, with a preference for one year.
• Experience with pediatric and neonatal draws.

• High School Diploma.
• Experience in hospital settings is a plus.
• Excellent attendance and behavior record.
• Willingness to work back-to-back weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to come in for same-day call-offs.

The work environment involves working under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead. The shift is from 4:00 am to 12:30 pm, with on-call requirements and potential changes in the coming months. The position offers full-time hours initially for acclimation to the facility, with training on the night shift. The schedule is provided four weeks in advance. The dress code is red scrubs. This is a Contract position based out of San Bernardino, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in San Bernardino,CA.
