RN - Cath Lab


Job Details:


• Work in a fast-paced, 24/7 high acuity Cath Lab performing 24-40 cases per day
• Travelers will work varying 8-hour shifts or a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts to meet weekly shift requirements
• Weekend rotation may be required, though weekends are typically on-call rather than scheduled
• Call shift is scheduled from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM with end-of-shift call extending until 6:00 AM the following morning
• On-call rotation occurs Friday through Friday (7 days of call) every 2-3 months
• 30-minute response time required for call
• Travelers typically do not work holidays
• Time off requests may be approved with 7 days notice
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Treat adult patients only; no pediatric cases
• Perform Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic, interventional, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella; ECMO experience preferred
• Perform peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases and some fistulograms
• Hybrid experience (AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, Watchman) preferred but not required
• Provide conscious sedation and titrate/manage drips
• Utilize charting systems and equipment including EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, ECMO, GE Pruka hemodynamic monitoring, Fuji and ProSolv PACS, and Maquet IABP
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Scrubs provided
• Free parking available
• 1 week of orientation provided
• No floating required


Facility:


This facility is a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status, operating 933 beds. The cardiac services department features 15 labs total shared between Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid procedures, with approximately 11 dedicated strictly to Cath Lab. The facility provides robust support services including 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and cardiology coverage, as well as a Critical Response Team for codes, charge nurses, transporter services, and dedicated storeroom staff.
