GUI Developer (Qt5/Qt6) – Munich, Germany – 3 Months Role: GUI Developer Location: Munich, Germany Contract Length: 3 Months (Extension Possible) Start Date: July/August 2026 Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Hours: 40 hours per week Our client is seeking an experienced Qt GUI Developer to support the ongoing development of a Windows-based desktop application used for analog circuit simulation. The application provides customers with advanced simulation capabilities and requires enhancements across the graphical user interface, including front-end functionality, data models, controllers, and integration with the computational backend. The successful contractor will work closely with stakeholders and product owners to deliver new GUI features while ensuring high software quality through automated testing. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance GUI functionality using Qt5 and/or Qt6 (Widget-based). Implement visual improvements and new user interface features. Extend and maintain application data models and controllers. Integrate GUI functionality with the simulation backend. Write and maintain automated tests using GTest and/or GUI testing frameworks such as Squish. Collaborate with product owners and development teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions. Ensure software quality through testing, debugging, and code reviews. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' commercial experience developing desktop applications with Qt (Widget-based). Strong experience with Qt5; Qt6 experience is advantageous. Strong C++ development skills. Experience developing Windows desktop applications. Experience using Visual Studio and the Microsoft compiler toolchain. Understanding of software architecture, MVC patterns, and GUI design principles. Experience writing automated unit tests using GTest or similar frameworks. Desirable Skills Experience with GUI automation frameworks such as Squish. Background in electrical engineering, electronics, or circuit simulation software. Experience working with scientific or engineering desktop applications. German language skills.
