The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field. The purpose of this position is to provide technical knowledge on projects and perform Process.Technology assignments of intermediate to moderate complexity.Perform broad range of process engineering assignments with respect to various and differing industries and systemsPlan and conduct work in evaluation, selection and application of standard process engineering techniques, procedures and criteriaReview and check work of others to assure overall quality of process designsContact and consult with other engineering disciplines within the Company in addition to process engineers and supervisorsUnderstand and follow the effort-hours budget and process scheduleSupport execution of the Quality Plan to ensure that work product meets defined requirement and standards, as neededContribute value awareness concepts to Process Design to positively impact project economicsPrepare the Process Design Basis (PDB)Perform process and economic studies for more complex systemsPrepare process design specifications containing all components necessary to satisfy contract requirements: process description, process design basis, configuration and other studies, Heat and Material Balance (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Material Selection Diagrams (MSD), process equipment specifications, process equipment lists, instrument data, relief valve data, contingency analysis, relief loads, catalyst chemical summaries, emission summaries, safeguarding memorandumParticipate in bid tab evaluations for equipment; check vendor data for equipmentAssist with development of turnover packagesPrepare operating guidelines for the operating manualWork with environmental specialist or group to define environmental requirements and/or define consequences/blast/dispersion modelingParticipate in plot plan review and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews in regard to plant safety/operability/Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assignmentSupport work sharing activities to leverage core competencies and to enhance commercial strategiesAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesOrganize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlinesPlan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staffMaintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standardsAdhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability PoliciesEffectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the jobMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersMeet expectations on attendance and punctualityOther duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Other Job RequirementsMust be US citizen or permanent resident.Experience in designing and analyzing Nuclear Island support systems within Reactor Building and/or Radioactive Waste building.Familiarity with ASME Section III designUnderstanding of ASME NQA-1 standards for nuclear quality assurance and ability to implement and maintain quality assurance programs in compliance with ASME NQA-1 requirements.Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements and standards.Knowledge of radiation protection principles.Experience in the design of liquid, gaseous, and solid radioactive waste processing systems in compliance with NRC regulationsExperience in the design of liquid radioactive waste drainage systems in compliance with NRC regulationsExperience in applying NUREG-0800 to design activitiesExperience in applying NRC Regulatory Guides to design activitiesExperience in applying 10 CFR 20 and 10 CFR 50 to design activitiesPreferred QualificationsThree (3) years of experience on Nuclear Power projects for EPC company, or as Client Representative.Professional Engineer Licensed in Texas (or ability to obtain license if already registered in another state)We are an equal opportunity employer.
