Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities include:Work on a design team through frequent hardware design cycles and produce technical designs and analysis while supporting qualification, testing, manufacturing, and integration activitiesFoster open communication and present to all levels of leadership within the organizationDrive solutions forward and advise the team on problem resolutionsTake ownership of the full lifecycle of hardware from requirements definition through concept development, design, analysis, testing, qualification, and integration onto a launch vehicleDesign, analyze, develop, and test active and passive thermal control subsystem components and assembliesPerform research, develop concepts, and participate in trade studiesBuild detail part 3D models, assemblies, installations, and interface control documentsBuild test plans, specifications, and other documentation for the development of flight hardwareProvide technical guidance and on-site support for manufacturing, production, and integration activitiesSupport configuration development and trade studiesTake ownership of test planning, execution, data reduction, analysis, and authoring of test reportsWork with multi-functional teams that are responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to produce world class aerospace hardwareDevelop component specifications and manage suppliersPlan, coordinate, conduct tests, and review test dataParticipate in the development and purchase of new equipment and toolingMaintain and report on activity schedule, budget and technical statusCoach, mentor and technically assist other engineersFind opportunities for improvements and operational cost savingsWork with spacecraft customers in a technical capacityDrive hardware discrepancies to resolutionPrepare technical content and present to internal and external customersPerform access studies, loss of clearance analyses, vehicle clocking studies, and develop solutions to mission unique requirementsCollaborate with internal and external teams throughout design, manufacturing, and mission integrationMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 4+ years of experience with spacecraft, launch vehicle, or aircraft structuresExperience on recently developed spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft vehicles in one or more of the following areas: a) Active and Passive Thermal Control Subsystems b) Fluid routing & tubing design c) Material selection, compatibility and manufacturing techniquesExperience working in a multi-functional organization to develop designs and produce world-class engineered productsUnderstanding of core DFX principles influencing structural development with close integration with Manufacturing and Operations teams.Understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentalsExperience with full Model Based Definition (MBD) engineering release processes with exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance analysis (ASME Y14.5)Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41Design experience using CAD (Creo/Windchill preferred), hand calculations, and FEA (ANSYS preferred) toolsAbility to take ownership of the hardware lifecycle from requirements definition through concept development, design, analysis, testing, qualification, and integration onto a launch vehicleStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with rapid development techniques for integrated hardware while leveraging DFX philosophies and tenants.Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing processes for transition to productionKnowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication and integration processes, and quality controlBase Pay Range for:CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
