For more information visit our website at: soaz.org.OVERVIEWSupports teaching staff in a licensed childcare and preschool/after school-age facility with implementing classroom and recreational activities for children 3 through 12 years of age. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssists with setting up for classroom activities; prepares needed supplies and materialsProvides support for children in classroom activities ensuring they have attention and resourcesAssists with mealtime, nap time and play time (both indoor and outdoor)Follows the state licensing, Quality First, and childcare food program standards Maintains a clean and safe environment and monitors behavior of childrenMay assist with after school and summer program activities May transport children in the after-school program and assist in picking up children at elementary schoolsAssists in keeping accurate records for programsMay drive agency or personal vehicle on company business Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) DutiesAs assigned, report the number of children scheduled to eat lunchClean tables before and after meals and sweep floors of the meal serving areasServe required portions of food for mealsSupervise proper handwashing by childrenRecord meals served at point of serviceMonitor participants during mealsAssist with family-style eatingProvide office with meal count recordsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSSuitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.High School Diploma or GED6 months of experience in a classroom setting in licensed childcare and preschool/after school-age facilityAbility to organize activities for children ages 3 through 12Good communication skills, using appropriate grammar and toneProof of immunizations to comply with childcare hiring requirementsAbility to lift 20 pounds 10% of work time; ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climbAttainment of First Aid and CPR certification after hireAttainment of Food Handlers Certification after hireREGULATORYMust be at least 18 years of ageValid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle reportAbility to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)TB screening (employer paid)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSWorking toward a Child Development Associates (CDA) certificate or Associate in Early Childhood Education or related fieldAdditional years of directly-related experienceBilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and writtenThe above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.We are an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Employer for all individuals.
