Position Summary:

As a Security Guard at Trolley Court, a downtown residential housing property, you will be the first point of contact for residents, guests, and visitors. This role is ideal for individuals with exceptional customer service skills who can combine safety and security responsibilities with a friendly, professional demeanor. You are expected to maintain a strong presence on-site to deter incidents and ensure residents feel safe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist residents, visitors, and guests with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property at all times.
• Conduct three required patrols per shift of hallways, courtyards, parking areas, and other property locations.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, coordinating with management and emergency personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
• Use de-escalation and conflict resolution skills to handle disputes or resident concerns.
• Ensure compliance with property rules and policies while maintaining a resident-focused approach.
• Operate security equipment, including walkie-talkies, site phones, binders, and golf carts as needed.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, security risks, or maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support property safety and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by California.
• Powers to Arrest Training Certificate.
• Strong customer service experience and communication skills; able to interact effectively with residents and guests.
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to maintain a strong presence and respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.
• Comfortable standing or walking for long periods and occasionally navigating stairs or ramps.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Proficient with radios, telephones, and site-specific security systems.
