STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:
HQ Aero is currently recruiting for Structures Technicians in Waco, TX.
The STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN must be an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A or A&P under FAR Part 65.

Responsibilities:
As a Structures Technician you will be required to:

• Ability to pass the FAA/DOT required drug and alcohol program, to include random testing as required by regulations.
• Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, repair, and installation.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and structural repair manuals.
• Strong understanding of aircraft materials and structural components.
• Experienced in layout, measurement, and precision marking techniques.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
• Research technical data and perform inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures, including main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, and floor beams in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine the sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
• Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques.
• Selects gauge and type of sheet metal, such as stainless steel, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material, such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications.
• Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material, using scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns of products or parts.
• Performs maintenance work, including the repair and upkeep of company equipment, as well as shop housecleaning.
• Makes appropriate entries in Component Removal Log, completes identification tags, and repairable/parts routing tags upon removing components from aircraft.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

• The STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN must be an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A or A&P under FAR Part 65.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, including following verbal and written instructions.
• 10 - 15 years in Aircraft Structure repair preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of Boeing 767, 747, 737, and/or Airbus 340, 330.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Spanish is a plus.
