Defense Litigation Associate

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join our Buffalo office. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator who is ready to handle a diverse caseload in defense matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated cases across multiple practice areas in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of defense litigation cases from inception through trial preparation.Conduct fact investigations, draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and trial briefs.Take and defend depositions and participate in other discovery activities.Appear in court for arguments, conferences, hearings, and trials.Prepare and try cases before juries and judges.Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients.Collaborate with partners and associates on complex matters.Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service.Contribute to business development efforts and firm initiatives.Practice AreasThis position will focus on defense litigation, including but not limited to:Professional LiabilityConstruction LitigationInsurance DefenseProducts LiabilityGeneral Liability and other complex civil defense mattersQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York State Bar.3+ years of civil defense litigation experience (5+ years preferred).Experience in professional liability, construction, insurance defense, or products liability is highly desirable.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.Strong analytical, negotiation, and case management abilities.Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.BenefitsUnlimited PTO401kHybrid ScheduleNo Billable Hour Minimum
