Infection Control Wound RN

Infection Control Wound Nurse RN Full Time Day Shift | Week On-Call Support Rotation | No Weekend Requirements | Location: Windsor, CT Experience in Long Term Care Required | Infection Control/Wound Management Experience Required | Registered Nurse RN Required | Infection Control/Wound certification required. Responsibilities Collaborate with facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan. Establish a facility-wide system for prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections among residents, staff, and visitors, including surveillance to identify communicable diseases before they spread. Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of ongoing staff development programs for all personnel within facility. Work closely with department heads to assess ongoing learning needs of employees. Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans. Educate patients and families on best practices to promote healing and wellness. Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines. Coordinate with supervising physicians to ensure smooth recovery process. Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Administrator. Qualifications Prior experience managing staff is preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a group. Computer knowledge. Previous long-term care experience required. Infection Control, wound certification, nursing management experience preferred. License Must have an active Registered Nurse RN license. Infection Control/Wound certification required.
