Powerhouse Engineer - 2nd shift - Columbus Plant

Abbott seeks a Powerhouse Engineer for second-shift operations at its Columbus manufacturing facility. The role involves learning energy center systems through classroom instruction and on-the-job training, with the goal of obtaining Ohio Steam Engineer certification and operating critical plant infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Complete classroom training in industrial maintenance and boiler operation to prepare for Ohio Steam Engineers Exam
- Operate energy center systems safely and efficiently, including boiler, chilled water, compressed air, and wastewater systems
- Perform preventative and demand maintenance, execute work orders in Maximo CMMS, and maintain tools and equipment
- Monitor process deviations, ensure regulatory compliance with FDA GMP and OSHA standards, and support capital projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
- Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer license
- Strong mathematics, written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical troubleshooting ability and capacity to learn complex technical processes
- Experience with FDA, cGMP, or highly regulated manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards for infant formula or nutritional ingredients (preferred)
