Veterinary Technician
Sage Veterinary Management
Building the Foundation for Exceptional Specialty Patient Care
If you've ever thought, "I want to grow my technical skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families," keep reading.
Sage Veterinary Imaging is not a general practice. We are not an emergency hospital. We don't provide wellness visits or routine vaccinations.
We exist for one reason: to provide advanced diagnostic imaging that helps pets receive the right diagnosis—and the right treatment—as quickly as possible.
Sage Veterinary Imaging is seeking a Veterinary Technician I (Tech I) to provide exceptional patient care while developing advanced skills in anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and specialty veterinary medicine.
As a Tech I, you will work alongside experienced technicians, doctors, radiologists, and specialists while learning the specialized techniques required to safely care for patients undergoing MRI, CT, ultrasound, radiology, nuclear medicine, and other advanced diagnostic procedures.
Your work directly supports patient safety, diagnostic quality, and an exceptional client experience.
Why This Role Is Different
Most veterinary technician positions involve routine appointments, vaccinations, and general practice medicine.
At Sage Veterinary Imaging, you'll develop specialized technical skills while working exclusively in advanced diagnostic medicine.
Rather than managing routine appointments, your focus will be:
- Patient safety
- Advanced anesthesia support
- Diagnostic imaging
- Specialty patient care
- Clinical excellence
- Team collaboration
- Continuous learning
Every patient entrusted to us deserves the highest standard of technical care.

- Record anesthesia parameters accurately and consistently.
- Recognize changes in patient status and promptly notify the supervising veterinarian or senior technician.
- Maintain patient safety throughout all anesthetic procedures.
Diagnostic Imaging Support

Clinical Operations

Responsibilities include:
- Prepare treatment and procedure areas each day.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Clean, disinfect, and organize patient care and imaging areas.
- Support laboratory sample handling and processing.
- Maintain compliance with hospital safety and infection control standards.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and operational readiness.
Team Collaboration
The Veterinary Technician I works closely with doctors, radiologists, technicians, assistants, Customer Service Representatives, and Patient Care Coordinators to deliver exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicate patient updates clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Assist Technician Assistants in patient handling and workflow.
- Participate in rounds, case discussions, and team meetings.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting multiple departments as needed.
- Promote Sage Veterinary Imaging's mission, vision, and values through every interaction.
Professional Growth & Learning
The Veterinary Technician I is expected to actively develop the technical knowledge and skills necessary for advancement within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete required training in advanced imaging and anesthesia protocols.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Seek feedback from senior technicians and doctors.

- Individuals eager to learn advanced imaging and anesthesia.
- Compassionate professionals who enjoy hands-on patient care.
- Team players who thrive in collaborative specialty environments.
- Technicians who value precision, organization, and continuous learning.
- Professionals seeking long-term career growth in specialty veterinary medicine.
Qualifications
- Licensed, Registered, or Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT), or eligible for credentialing according to state requirements.
- Previous veterinary clinical experience preferred.
- Strong patient handling and nursing skills.
- Basic knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to compassionate patient care and continuous professional development.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty environment.
Growth & Development Opportunities
We believe exceptional technicians never stop learning.
Growth opportunities may include:
- Advancement to Veterinary Technician II .
- Advanced MRI, CT, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy training.
- Advanced anesthesia and critical care education.
- Cross-training across multiple imaging modalities.
- Participation in specialty certifications and continuing education.
- Mentorship from experienced technicians, specialists, and board-certified radiologists.
- Opportunities to contribute to protocol development and quality improvement initiatives.

If you're passionate about advancing your technical skills, delivering outstanding patient care, and becoming part of a collaborative team dedicated exclusively to advanced diagnostic imaging, we'd love to hear from you.
Core Responsibilities Expected of a Tech I
