As a driven & dedicated automotive technician at Community Automotive Repair, your day-to-day expectations will revolve around providing exceptional service and quality automotive repairs. You'll begin by diagnosing vehicle issues, utilizing your technical expertise to develop repair plans that ensure customer satisfaction. Your tasks will include performing routine maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations, alongside other basic diagnosis and repairs for fluid services, brakes, steering and suspension, alignments, starting system components, and general mileage maintenance for vehicles.

You'll be expected to maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used to streamline operations and enhance communication with our team. Collaboration is key, so you'll work closely with fellow mechanics and technicians, sharing knowledge and techniques to improve efficiency and foster a positive work environment. Additionally, staying current with industry trends and best practices will be essential to succeed in this role.

To thrive as a driven & dedicated Automotive Technician at Community Automotive Repair, certain skills and expertise are vital. You'll need to demonstrate proficiency in all Level I automotive criteria, which includes basic automotive skills and the adept use of hand and power tools to perform essential repairs and services. Your foundational abilities will encompass basic diagnostics and replacement of components like starters, alternators, batteries, and brake components. Plus, routine maintenance such as; oil changes and fluid exchanges along with tire repair and mounting and balancing tires.

Your experience in automotive repair should span 1-2 years, allowing you to conduct our level 1 criteria listed above and demonstrate your familiarity with using tools, systems, and research to complete the work. Our level 1 technicians typically have 2 to 4 State certifications as required, and continuous pursuit of ASE certifications after hiring is encouraged. Expected production hours per week for Level 1 technician typically fall between 27-35 hours per week with top performers producing 40 plus hours.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Basic automotive skills, Use of hand & power tools to successfully complete basic repairs and services.
• Basic diagnosis and replacement: starters, alternators, batteries, cables, spark plugs, filters, simple water pumps, valve cover gaskets, brake pad & rotors, or shoe replacement, and tires.
• Completes routine maintenance and service: oil change, transmission, coolant, brake, power steering, differentials, transfer case.
• Personal diagnostic tools and equipment necessary to perform functions of this skill level.
• 1-2 years of automotive repair and service experience in a professional setting.
• State certified in a minimum of 2 to 4 areas.
• Production hours expectation: 27-35 hours.
