Position Purpose Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers. Ensures that customers are promptly and professionally served. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff. Ensures quotas of branch transactions, loan volumes, expenses, and profitability are in line with Bank standards. Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and evaluating commercial loan requests. Meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain loan information and documentation. Monitors and reviews construction and development loans. Maintains repossessed properties and assists in collections' activities. Serves borrowers and prospective borrowers promptly and professionally. Provides general Bank information and cross sells services. Essential Functions and Basic Duties Supervise work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations. Ensure branch security. Open and close the building in accordance with set hours and test security equipment quarterly. Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with established Bank policies and with legal and regulatory requirements. Supervise and assist with customer service functions. Assist in new accounts and on teller line as needed. Cross‑sell Bank services. Implement changes to established policies and procedures within the branch. Maintain proper cash controls: ensure all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day, oversee individual accountability for handling cash, control daily deposits, periodically verify cash in possession of tellers and cash on premises. Effectively supervise branch staff, providing leadership, objective setting, communication, sales coaching, task coordination, training, performance appraisals, corrective actions, promotion recommendations, attendance record keeping. Build effective professional business relations with customers: resolve requests, handle complaints, inform of services, counsel financial needs, maintain quality reputation, acquire new business via sales calls. Ensure effective administration of branch functions: coordinate with accounting, loan processing, credit functions; manage expenses; pursue cost‑saving measures; improve operations and productivity; prepare periodic reports and make recommendations; maintain building and equipment; keep supplies available; institute safety measures; keep management informed; request assistance as needed. Fill in and perform duties in branch positions as needed; attend training sessions. Complete commercial loan functions: interview applicants, take applications and preliminary documentation, discuss loan alternatives, analyze and evaluate requests, prepare submissions for the Commercial Loan Committee, identify and resolve problems, assist in construction loan advances, conduct property inspections, follow up on matured loans, assist in collections, complete lending in accordance with policy. Maintain communication and coordination with Bank personnel and management: coordinate functions, support Commercial Lending personnel, keep management informed of activities, attend meetings, serve on the Commercial Loan Committee, complete required reports. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and manage team through training, developing, and coaching associates on a consistent basis. Encourage others to set challenging goals and high standards of performance. Inspire associates to define new opportunities and continuously improve the organization. Celebrate and reward significant achievements of associates. Present logical and persuasive case for proposals and positions. Assist team in addressing their individual strengths and development needs. Performance Measures Branch services are delivered efficiently and effectively according to Bank policies and standards. Customer accounts are maintained or expanded. Customer issues are promptly resolved. Staff are well trained, efficient, and coordinated. Reports and records are accurate and timely. Management is appropriately informed of activities and significant problems. Suggestions for improved efficiency or effectiveness are provided. Qualifications Education/Certification: Associate degree in business or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience. Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Bank services and products; understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements; familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures. Experience Required: At least five years of related experience in a financial institution with a minimum of two years supervisory experience; at least five years lending experience; commercial lending experience required; real estate and origination background preferred. Skills/Abilities Required: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills; well organized; ability to operate computer applications and business equipment; attention to detail; ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
