Engineering Technician

Position Type: Full time, Contract to Hire
Duration: 12months
Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905 ( Onsite/1st Shift/6am-3:30pm)


As an Engineering Technician you will:

• Test Engineering Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space hardware.
• Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system and/or space vehicle level.
• Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is a must.
• Prior experience with RF, optical and/or digital technology is a must.

Essential Functions:

• Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations.
• Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction.
• Verify all test equipment is in calibration.
• Verify all licensed test software is not expired.
• Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures.
• Performs test and records required information.
• Document failures and reports any anomalies to key stakeholders.
• Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs.
• Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
• Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs and power supplies.

Ideal candidate will have

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates
  Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
• Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de-mating high-density connectors, RF and optical connections.
• Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing. Willing to work overtime as requested.
• This position needs an Active Secret Clearance

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $33-$35/hr
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
