The Lead BI supports school leadership responsible for the special education program. The Lead BI ensures appropriate support is provided to their assigned student(s) and assists with the oversight and continued development of the behavior program on their campus. The Lead BI ensures services are tracked for their students, assists with oversight of other BIIs, and supports admin and BIDs with training and onboarding new BIIs in the clinical aspects of their job.ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude the duties from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.Support SPED Admin with BII onboarding (e.g., protocols and expectations, access to Welligent, overlaps - having new BII overlap with lead BII to get an idea of what the position entails and receive some direct training)Train BIIs, shadowing BIIs with their student (under the supervision of the assigned BID/BCBA) and perform written feedback evaluations related to treatment plan and general responsibilitiesWelligent audit and support ensuring BIIs on campus are in Tier 1, services are tracked and provide ongoing training and support for those having difficulty with service trackingAssist with creation of sub folder and maintenance of datasheetsSupport BII subs, ensuring office staff know where to direct sub BIIs and ensure they have access to datasheets, schedule, and sub plansSupport with creation and implementation of BII break scheduleMeet with BID on a monthly basis to provide ongoing to support to behavior programSupporting with management of behavior crisis team at the campus; including training and documentation of incidents, behavior emergency reports, and storage of documentsMeet with COP Behavior Specialist quarterly for updates and best practices in behavior interventionAssist Special Education staff with carrying out and assessing individual educational programs (IEPs) for studentsAs part of a student's Special Education team, assist in implementing appropriate individualized instructional and behavioral plans and programs for assigned student(s), making adaptations as necessary under the direction of the Behavior Intervention Developer (BID), School Psychologist or School CounselorUnder direct and/or indirect supervision, provide individual and group instruction and/or intensive behavior intervention in the classroomPerform specialized instructional assistance in areas of related service including, but not limited to, adaptive physical education, speech and language, and/or occupational therapyAssist in a student’s developmental program, which may include language, gross and fine motor, cognitive, social, emotional, and self-help skillsAssist in identifying students needing remedial instruction in movement skills and provide activities for improvement of skills in body image, spatial awareness balance, locomotion, strength and agilityAssist students with personal hygiene including, but not limited to, eating, washing, oral care, toileting and diaper changing and/or develop self-help grooming skills as appropriatePerforms specialized physical health care services such as suctioning, gastronomy tube feeding, catheterization, oxygen administration and care of related equipment, and administers medication as directedLearn and safely implement approved techniques, such as CPI for restraining studentsAssist students physically as required, implementing non-violent crisis interventionsRecord data daily on a variety of aspects of students’ progress and behavior including, but not limited to, collecting data and anecdotal student progress notesAssist teachers in preparing a variety of learning materials and perform routine clerical tasks related to the classroom such as filing and recording test scores, grades and other data in student filesAssist in administering, proctoring and scoring tests and charting student progressSet up work areas and prepare materials for instructional useOperate or learn to operate a variety of technology such as computers, audiovisual equipment, office equipment, electronic teaching machines, and assistive technologySupervise students before and after school, at lunch, on the playground, and on field tripsAssist teachers with parent contactsAttend back-to-school nights and other school activities as requested and/or requiredAttend and participate in all relevant training sessions, meetings and professional growth activities as requested and/or requiredRespect confidential nature of pupil records and school reportsShow patience, respect and compassion in working with studentsOther duties as assigned.Class:Classified, Non-Exempt, HourlyDirect Supervision:Behavior InterventionistsNON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENTCamino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation and bullying in educational programs, activities, or employment on the basis of actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, parental, pregnancy, family or marital status, military status or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. She can be reached at View phone number on click.appcast.io or by mail at 3435 W Temple St. Los Angeles, CA 90026.Bachelor degree preferredAssociates degree or a minimum of at least 48 semester units (60 quarter units) requiredTwo (2) years’ experience working in TK-12 special education setting requiredTraining in implementing Behavior Intervention technique, as well as, demonstrated experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) based behavior intervention techniques.Spanish and English fluency preferredAdvanced knowledge of ABA (i.e., principles of behaviors, functions of behaviors, proactive vs. reactive strategies, observation and measurement/data collection/graphing, prompting and prompt fading)Knowledge of Welligent and service tracking (including pulling and reading 300 reports, identifying errors in services tracking, and requesting access)Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets and knowledge of how to create basic graphs and update data or aptitude for independent learning to be successful in this areaAbility to participate in courses, seminars, and workshops in the area(s) of autism and intensive behavior interventionAbility to lead a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment requiredAbility to understand and navigate the political, social, economic, legal and cultural context facing urban charter schools and the students they serve #J-18808-Ljbffr CAMINO NUEVO HIGH SCHOOL NUMBER 2
