We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our sawmill and planer mill. This leadership role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and millwrights.
• Assign daily work orders, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with production to minimize operational disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment history, and PM documentation using a CMMS.
• Monitor maintenance backlog and prioritize critical and safety-related repairs.
• Work closely with inventory personnel to maintain adequate spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and communicate maintenance priorities with the team.
• Investigate equipment failures, safety incidents, and participate in root cause analysis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred.
• 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2–3 years of supervisory or maintenance leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience in a sawmill, planer mill, lumber, paper mill, or wood products manufacturing environment.
• Journeyman Electrician, Millwright certification, or equivalent technical training.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
