As an Associate Director, OBU Strategy, you will play a key role in shaping the future of AstraZeneca's oncology portfolio by supporting critical strategic and business development initiatives. Leveraging market insights, portfolio analytics, forecasting, and strategic evaluations, you will help identify growth opportunities, assess external partnering investments, and inform portfolio decisions across the business. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you will translate complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic direction, optimize portfolio value, and support the successful development and commercialization of innovative oncology treatments.Key Responsibilities: Support Business Development Opportunity Assessments: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate external partnering opportunities by developing business cases, conducting financial valuations, performing scenario analyses, and preparing compelling presentations that inform investment decisions.Contribute to Oncology Portfolio Strategy: Support the development of portfolio strategies across tumor areas and assets through market assessments, competitive intelligence, portfolio analytics, and strategic evaluations that shape long-term business priorities.Deliver Strategic Insights and Analytics: Conduct robust analyses to assess market opportunities, competitive landscapes, commercial potential, and portfolio trade-offs. Transform complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.Create Executive-Level Materials: Develop high-impact presentations, strategic briefings, and analytical reports for leadership discussions, governance committees, and portfolio review meetings.Support Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management: Drive analytical excellence across annual planning cycles, portfolio reviews, forecasting activities, and other critical business processes by delivering accurate, insightful, and decision-oriented analyses.Mandatory Requirements:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree, MBA (PENDING)Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, commercial analytics, portfolio management, equity research, healthcare strategy, or analytical rolesAdvanced MS 365 (Strong Excel & Power point skills) & Power Platform (Power Bi skill)Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong quantitative skills with experience evaluating markets, businesses, products, or portfoliosStrong communication and presentation skills, including development of executive-level materialsSoft Skills: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneouslyDemonstrated initiative, ownership, and a strong desire to learnAbility to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments and influence stakeholders without formal authorityPreferred ExperienceExperience at a leading consulting firmApproximately 3 to 5 years of professional experience following completion of educationExperience in life sciences business development or forecastingHealthcare, biopharmaceutical, oncology, medical technology, or life sciences experience is beneficial but not requiredProficiency with AI toolsThe annual base pay for this position ranges from $151,080 - $226,622 USD Annual. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
