Company Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits Location Lafayette, LA Other Supply Chain/Logistics Overview Responsible for assisting the logistics manager with associate calls, customer calls, new associate training, maintenance of equipment, and all aspects of the logistics department. Primary Responsibilities Ensure all logistics associates meet DOT and CMV requirements. Oversee the delivery of the product to customers. Train new logistics associates and ensure they understand organization and operation policies and service guidelines. Maintain the Road Net software. Ensure the fleet is maintained properly, addressing all maintenance and safety‑related issues. Coach, direct, and counsel associates on overall performance via driver and customer surveys. Ensure productivity expectations are met and monitor progress regularly. Identify and recommend opportunities for associate development and performance improvement. Participate in the recruitment and hiring of all logistics associates. Additional Primary Responsibilities Field calls and facilitate actions as necessary. Train all logistics employees on SGWS policies. Conduct monthly safety training and meetings in accordance with SGWS Safety Policy. Handle and report all accidents according to company policy. Communicate all route changes daily. Monitor schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels daily. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience or equivalent education and related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organization, multitasking, and time‑management skills. Physical Demands Physical demands include considerable time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping. Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds. Must be able to sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jack, and battery change station. Work may involve repetitive motions, variable heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions. Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak‑season schedules may be required.
