SMIT Overview The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development‑focused role that prepares you for a CVS Store Manager position. The program lasts 16 weeks and offers both virtual and hands‑on learning, supported by a District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. Responsibilities Communicate well verbally and in writing to support and lead your team. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage the store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Expectations Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program. Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner that is consistent with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in support of the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Be willing to accept promotion roles in the market where you work. Eligibility and Promotion Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager role. Promotion depends on performance and availability of openings. Candidates must be willing to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market and to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in that market. They must also be able to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Qualifications High School diploma or GED (required). Bachelor's Degree (preferred). Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor. Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores located within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $23.88 . The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
