ER Technician - Emergency Department - Full Time - Nights

Education Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing (LPN), EMT or Paramedic program Experience / Qualifications Current licensure / Certification in the state of Florida BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers. ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers. PALS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers. Previous hospital experience preferred Position Summary The ER Tech has a responsibility to act as an adjunct to registered nursing and support staff in providing clinical care as approved by their licensure. Provide support to peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the ER Tech's performance support service excellence and a healing environment. The ER Tech identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to the appropriate person in charge. Physical Requirements This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self‑motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40 lbs, carry and lift up to 50 lbs. Threshold Requirements These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in‑service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
