This role supports business continuity by managing purchase orders, resolving supply issues, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The focus is on execution, process ownership, and supplier coordination, not strategic sourcing . Essential Functions: Manage an assigned commodity desk by determining material needs, placing purchase orders, coordinating delivery logistics, and resolving issues such as invoice discrepancies and non-conforming materials. Monitor and support supplier performance within assigned commodity groups, coordinating with Supplier Quality and leading regular supplier reviews to ensure delivery reliability and compliance. Proactively identify and implement corrective actions to prevent material shortages, expedite critical items, and provide timely status updates to internal stakeholders and site leadership. Communicate forecasted material requirements to suppliers to ensure alignment with production schedules and avoid supply disruptions. Support purchasing leadership by preparing recommendations for process improvements, vendor performance insights, and cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and data analysis. Apply purchasing policies and procedures consistently, including conducting minor contract negotiations and assisting with documentation and compliance tracking. Drive operational efficiency by managing pull-based replenishment processes such as Kanban, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and supplier consignment programs. Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to reduce excess and obsolete inventory and rationalize part usage across the organization. Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives such as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events to eliminate waste and enhance procurement processes. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. Experience: E xperience in electronics purchasing or planning, operational procurement, or purchasing preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Technology: P roficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in ERP systems preferred. Certificates & Licenses: Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred. Other Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage both granular and strategic objectives. Basic knowledge and interpretation skills for electrical schematics related to product sourcing. Proficiency in Product Life Cycle Management, including managing new product supply chain setup and product obsolescence. Ability to manage scope changes within a high-mix, high-volume production environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced product development environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with key individuals at all levels of the organization to implement changes effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely, fact-based decisions. Prior experience with supplier performance management practices and supplier scorecards preferred.
