Customs Compliance and Logistics Coordinator

You’ll be joining over 24,500 people in 50 countries on the leading edge of your field.This position is with Hexagon’s Mining division, a global technology leader, and solution provider for surface and underground mine challenges, with proven technologies for planning, operations, and safety.Purpose of Position:Hexagon’s Mining division is looking for a Customs Compliance and Logistics Coordinator to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.  Reporting to our Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive supply chain team providing support and direction for day-to-day supply chain and shipping. Bring your people skills and technical expertise to ensure compliance for all products imported and exported into and out of the United States. Major Areas of Responsibility:Partner with the Supply Chain Manager& Global Core team in administering Hexagon’s Customs Compliance Program and monitoring its effectivenessAssist in researching, understanding, and communicating trade compliance regulations & standards through the organization to ensure products & processes comply with required dynamic export/import requirementsMonitor new developments and changes in customs laws, trade agreements, and transportation regulation and communicating this information internally as necessaryFacilitate the import and export clearance process for Hexagon Mining Direct the organization and retention of various customs and compliance records and conduct post-entry reviews to ensure compliance with recording keeping requirements and identify errors in customs declarationsOversee the creation and execution of annual Certificates of Origin to customersQualify country of origin and specific country content value in accordance with the rules of origin and preparing Certificates of Origin or Certification Requests in a timely mannerAssess Duty draw backs and submit to CBPCoordinate a program for calculations of preferential treatment under the Free Trade Agreements and maintain and retain Free Trade Agreement certificatesAssist the Supply Chain Manager and shipping team with the negotiation(s) of favorable regional contracts and working with them on the monitoring, maintaining, and utilizing of approved carriers. for all MIN locations and customers.Maintain ERP system item master related to COO, HS codes and Schedule B’sLiaise with customs broker, CBP, finance, freight forwarders, carriers, couriers, product, and export compliance groups and supporting internal teams on significant issues pertaining to deliveries, duties, clearance, valuation, etc.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to the Customs Compliance ProgramKnowledge and Experience - Required:High School Diploma or bachelor's degree in administration or related field or relevant work experience3-5 years of related experience with export and/or import regulatory compliance and international business transactions, HS/HTS classification and shipping documentsWorking knowledge of US Customs regulations and proceduresExperience in logistics, preferably with a mix of air/sea/truck on a global levelKnowledge and Experience - Desired:Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation or enrollmentExperience with trade compliance information systems Background in the manufacturing or high-tech IndustryAn understanding of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System and working within the Customs Automated Reference Library (CARL)Lean or Six Sigma certificationValid driver’s licenseTravel:Some travel may be required.Hexagon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
