Senior AI Engineer (GenAI/LLMs)

Salary: $123,000 - 215,250 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or AI development
• 3+ years of experience with generative AI, large language models, and agentic workflows
• Strong programming skills in Python, NoSQL, and REST APIs
• Experience developing AI agents with LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable frameworks
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool integration and A2A for agent-to-agent collaboration
• Strong understanding of anomaly detection, classification, and clustering
• Experience handling large-scale log, telemetry, network, or security datasets
• Preferred: Experience with WAF platforms, bot management systems such as Cloudflare, AWS Shield, or Google Cloud Armor, SIEM technologies, or security analytics tools
• Preferred: Experience leading technical teams and delivering enterprise-scale AI platforms
• Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; we will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents that detect malicious activity, bot attacks, account takeovers, fraud patterns, API abuse, and network anomalies using large-scale application, network, WAF, bot-management, threat-intelligence, and other security data
• Develop agents that correlate signals across telemetry sources, monitor events, trigger playbooks, and learn from feedback
• Build multi-agent systems for reasoning, planning, retrieval, tool use, and workflow orchestration
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent memory, and knowledge-graph integrations to improve agent performance
• Create AI-powered copilots and investigative assistants for security analysts
• Establish model monitoring, drift detection, and continuous-improvement practices
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership for AI initiatives
• Set technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for AI agent development
