Sr. Inside Territory Manager - West Region Job Summary Manage an assigned portfolio of core Foremost Independent Agencies, prospecting and appointing new agencies with guidance, driving profitable premium growth, achieving financial and operational goals, developing and managing agency partnerships, and serving as the primary relationship between agency and company. Promote and support the suite of Foremost products and services within the portfolio. Oversee complex accounts that may span multiple states and several hundred storefronts. Work independently with minimal guidance and direction while having a significant business unit and enterprise impact. Provide mentorship or coaching to less experienced team members (no supervisory responsibilities). Position may be virtual or hybrid with limited field travel. Essential Job Functions Own and manage the assigned portfolio to drive profitable growth and meet financial and operational targets. Develop and execute territory tactical plans and agency management processes (e.g., business planning, training, compensation) with field distribution partners. Build and cultivate agency partnerships using a consultative sales framework. Act as a trusted advisor, delivering product, underwriting philosophy, appetite, and system training to support retention and new business development. Create, maintain, and execute high‑quality agency strategies and plans, holding agents accountable to achieve written premium, profit, and new business goals. Collaborate with field distribution partners to align strategic and tactical components with key business strategies such as carrier consolidation, agency storefront expansion, and new product or program rollout support. Ensure quality of new business flow, appropriate mix, and overall risk management of individual agency books and the portfolio. Provide appetite and target market clarity, identify and address profit or quality concerns, and utilize internal reporting and tools (marketing, development programs, business‑development tools, profitability data and analysis). Serve as a knowledgeable resource to collaborate, influence, and support internal business partners (e.g., underwriting, product management, claims, service operations). Mentor or coach less experienced team members as needed. Physical Actions The job is performed in‑person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative location, with occasional field work. The work environment is indoors, climate‑controlled, with adequate lighting and ventilation. Employees may experience background noise and interruptions. Field work outdoors may involve weather exposure. Employees frequently sit or stand for extended periods, occasionally move, push, pull, lift, or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Tasks include fine‑motor actions such as typing, mousing, or writing, and movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Clear vision is required; hearing may be required for communication and safety. The role may require regular travel between offices and field locations. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred. State insurance license preferred upon hire. Experience Requirements Minimum five years of experience in insurance distribution. Experience achieving profitable premium growth and sales success. IA distribution territory management experience highly preferred.
