Respiratory Therapist JobEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the installation/delivery of respiratory therapist equipment and provision of all needed supplies and products to the patients in the home and ongoing assessment of patients and equipment in covering/ assigned service area.Is responsible for clinical contact with the physician, referred contacts, health care practitioners, area patient care coordinators, and others involved in the care of the patients referred to Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed for home respiratory therapist services.Is responsible for the maintenance of records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation for any patient service in dictated area.Is responsible to maintain accurate inventory of all Sleep Management/VieMed assets and supplies.Is responsible for vehicle maintenance and service (paid for by Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed). (If applicable)Ensures that vehicle is always maintained per applicable accreditation standards. (If applicable)Is responsible to ensure all pertinent demographic information and insurance coverage is updated regularly and with any change in personal or professional status.Is responsible for the overseeing of all applicable regulatory rules and guidelines as pertains to the staff respiratory therapist.Exhibits effective written and verbal communication skills. Adheres to cost-containment policies and procedures.Works with the local/remote office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third-party payor guidelines for coverage.Works with all clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapist services to all referral sources.Ensures proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation.Is required to provide availability for patient contact and response to patient needs.Completes equipment setups, quarterly checks, and any unscheduled equipment service/patient calls for all types of equipment.Will work with fellow RTs in the area (if applicable) on a rotating on-call schedule and or cover on-call when coverage is needed in within dictated service area.Will work with team members (other RTs, PCC's, ACM's and various departments) to ensure tasks are completed.Apply and maintain any states licensures dictated by Clinical Coordinator.Travel to assigned territories needing assistance 75% of the year; or as deemed necessaryResponsible for equipment retrieval/ returning equipment to local RT or storage location.Other duties/projects as assigned.Will adhere to company credit card and expense policy during travel.Professional ResponsibilitiesAdheres to company dress code and maintains neat and clean appearance.Completes annual education/in-services requirementsMaintains regulatory requirements, including state, federal, and joint commission standards.Maintains and always ensures patients confidentially.Wears identification tag during working hours.Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.CompetenciesTechnical Capacity.Customer/Client Focus.Communication Proficiency.InitiativeCollaborationFinancial Management.Presentation Skills.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.EE must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.EE must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Work EnvironmentThis job will require the employee to go into patient homes for the set-up and service of medical devices.Travel to dictated Viemed servicing areas across the United States.Preferred Education and ExperienceMedical or respiratory experience.Valid Respiratory Therapist licensures in the States in which you practice.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.By submitting your application and participating in the interview process, you acknowledge and consent that interviews, video meetings, phone screenings, and other recruiting interactions may be recorded for evaluation, training, quality assurance, compliance, and hiring purposes.
