Certified Welding Inspector / QC Inspector - Greensboro, NC
Pay: $30–$40 per hour
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Quality Control Inspector (QCI) in Reedy Fork, NC for our client in manufacturing and fabrication. This role performs welding and quality inspections across fabricated piping, structural steel, and aluminum while supporting AWS/ASME compliance and quality documentation.
What You'll Do
- Perform visual and dimensional weld inspections.
- Inspect fabrication to applicable AWS, ASME, customer, drawing, and specification requirements.
- Maintain welder qualifications, continuity logs, certifications, and inspection records.
- Develop and maintain WPSs and PQRs.
- Coordinate third-party NDT activities.
- Document quality issues and support corrective actions, RCCA, and continuous improvement.
- Support process audits, QMS compliance, equipment verification, and final inspections.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams on quality issues.
What You Bring
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of CWI experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, ASME Section IX, and ASME B31.3 .
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
- Knowledge of welding QC, RCCA, CQI, and quality documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred: Associate degree in Welding Technology or related field; ISO 9001 and/or AISC experience; structural steel, piping fabrication, and aluminum welding experience.
