Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Overview Location: NM, Santa Fe | Type: Contract | Status: Active | Posted: 07/14/2026 | Travel experience required. Responsibilities Monitor patients’ levels of consciousness and vital signs during recovery from anesthesia. Administer medications for pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms. Assess patients for signs of complications and intervene as necessary. Document patient status, treatments, and clinical findings accurately. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and families on post-surgery care and recovery instructions. Prepare patients for discharge once recovery criteria are met. Implement infection control and safety measures. Respond to emergency situations and provide critical interventions. Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a PACU or critical care setting. Proficiency in monitoring equipment and electronic health records. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in surgical recovery or critical care environments. Familiarity with hospital systems like Epic or Mediexcel. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS).
