US Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for DC - Agency Wide
The position is located in the Office of Human Resources which provides a comprehensive program that covers position management and classification, personnel staffing and recruitment, pay administration, compensation and benefits, performance management, labor and employee relations, and retirements. Qualifications - GS-06 Level One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service performing clerical or technical support duties in a Human Resources office. Specialized experience includes processing personnel actions in an automated HR system, reviewing HR documents for accuracy; assisting with onboarding tasks such as coordinating new hire paperwork and orientation; maintaining personnel records and databases; and responding to routine benefits and payroll inquiries. Qualifications - GS-07 Level One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service performing technical HR support work. Specialized experience includes processing personnel and payroll actions, reviewing requests for compliance and accuracy; conducting new employee orientation; calculating salary determinations; updating HR data and correcting errors; providing information on the employee benefits program and process benefit enrollments and changes; providing technical assistance on HR systems and personnel data; and responding to routine benefits and payroll inquiries and identifying discrepancies. Substitution of Education For Experience : The experience requirements for the GS-7 level may be met by completion of one (1) year of graduate level education (18 semester/27 quarter hours) in a position-related field of human resources management. Successful applicants for this position must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
