Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job

Overview
NICU Registered Nurse (Level II) - Olympia, Washington. This travel assignment starts on 06/16/2026 for 13 weeks in a Level II NICU within a 325-bed short-term acute care facility. Shifts are 3x12 rotating (primarily days with some night coverage). Weekly pay ranges from $1,795 to $1,814 per week. There are no guaranteed hours. This position requires travel; non-local candidates only.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct NICU nursing care for neonates in a Level II unit, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment for conditions such as RDS, sepsis, NAS/NAS, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia.
- Initiate and maintain vascular access (IV starts, EPIVs, UAC/UVC); unit provides VAT backup as needed.
- Manage respiratory support (CPAP, HFNC) and short-term intubation when appropriate; monitor ventilator/therapist needs.
- Support nutrition and feeding (gavage, feeder/grower care, PPN/lipids) and perform neonatal dosing as required.
- Conduct sepsis workups, administer IV antibiotics, and provide family teaching and discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with Respiratory, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Interpretation Services; document care and orders in Epic; participate in daily rounds.
- May float to Postpartum (stable couplets) or Pediatrics (for bili babies) with orientation provided; not for sick/respiratory patients.
- Maintain safe patient care practices with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio as appropriate for the unit.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Washington; pending state license accepted for quick starts.
- Minimum 2 years NICU experience; travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
- BLS and NRP certifications required.
- Ability to perform IV starts, EPIVs, and UAC/UVC; unit performs own IVs with VAT backup.
- Experience with neonatal care for diagnoses such as RDS, NAS, sepsis, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia; able to manage short-term respiratory support.
- Education: RN with current licensure; specific degree details not listed.
- Two references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (required during compliance/pre-start).
- Pre-start modules completed prior to start (average ~16 hours).
- Local travel restrictions: permanent residence within 50 miles disqualifies travel eligibility.
