On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour weekend call shifts (Friday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM)

Case Mix: General urology including kidney, bladder, ureter, and urethral conditions

Additional Expectations: Must be comfortable managing complex catheter placements and difficult catheterizations

EMR System: Epic

Office Equipment Available: Standard urology surgical and diagnostic equipment including robotic surgical capability

Specialty Backup Available: Full hospital specialty support available

Support Staff Available: Hospital clinical and surgical staff

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: No

Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 - 90 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

General adult urology procedures

Pediatric urology consults

Ureteroscopy

Nephrectomy

Adrenalectomy

Robotic urologic surgeries

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL)

Laparoscopic urologic surgeries

Renal and bladder ultrasound and biopsy

Incontinence procedures

PREFERRED / NON-MANDATORY PROCEDURES

Prostatectomy

Radical prostatectomy

Radical cystectomy with ileal loop conduit

Penile prosthesis

Renal transplant surgery

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active Indiana medical license or IMLC eligibility

Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology (Certification required within 5 years of residency)

DEA: Active DEA Certification required

Certifications:

BLS (AHA issued) required for all specialties

ACLS (AHA issued) required if requesting conscious sedation privileges

Experience: Minimum 2 years of urology experience

Vaccination Requirements:

Flu vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption)

COVID vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide inpatient urology care and hospital call coverage

Perform inpatient rounding during call coverage

Manage general urology cases including complex catheter placements

Perform diagnostic and surgical urologic procedures as required

Coordinate care with hospital staff and specialists

Enter orders and maintain accurate medical documentation within the Epic EMR system
