Industrial Equipment Mechanic

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Uses standard test procedures to trace and locate problems
• Overhauls and repairs a wide range of makes, models, and types of mechanical, electrical, and mechanical/electrical equipment
• Makes exact adjustments, on precise timing of gears, alignment of shafts, and adjustments of contact points and electrical motor parts
• Responsible for maintenance and minor repair of facility vehicles
• Installs and repairs complex equipment and machinery. Involving PLC controls and series connected machines
• Examine and troubleshoot machinery and equipment to determine the extent of repairs required, materials or parts needed, and to estimate the time required to complete repair
• Interpret and apply the requirements contained in technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, and other documents in determining critical dimensions and key reference points
• Dismantle, move, and relocate various types of industrial plant machinery and equipment or install new machinery and equipment
• Other duties as assigned
