Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized cardiovascular care in a fast-paced critical care environment. This position offers night shifts with options for flexible scheduling and potential for overtime.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to CVICU patients, including post-operative cardiac surgery and ICU patients.
• Float to related units such as ICU, CV stepdown, or cardiac tele unit as needed, ensuring seamless patient care coverage.
• Adhere to unit protocols and safety guidelines, including COVID-related precautions.
• Complete required training modules, including EPIC documentation classes, based on prior experience.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain active licensure and compliance with all facility and agency policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active VA or Compact Nursing license in hand at submission.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent CVICU ICU experience.
• Meet certifications including BLS and ACLS.
• Demonstrate ability to float across related units and support COVID patient care if needed.
• Complete EPIC training, with prior experience determining class type and hours required.
• Adhere to infection control policies, including flu vaccination during flu season.
