Physician Assistant - Primary Care (Northwest CBOC)

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval – award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Duties Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a clinical role at the Northwest VA Clinic – Surprise, AZ. Fully qualified and certified per DVAHCS guidelines. Assume major clinical, consultative, educational, research, and administrative duties related to examination of claimants filing compensation and pension claims. Practice general medicine with a focus on community‑based outpatient care. Dedicate approximately 90% of time to an interdisciplinary approach for general medicine clinic patients. Act as primary care provider for own panel of general medicine patients. Provide independent assessment and triage of patients referred by VAMC consultants. Communicate effectively with consultants regarding patient triaging. Lead efforts to improve processes and patient satisfaction within the clinic.
