Senior Bachelor’s Degree + 10 years relevant experience PHD + 6 years relevant experience or Master’s Degree + 8 years relevant experience or Associate’s Degree + 12 years relevant experience or 14 years relevant experience + relevant technical certification/license Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. A degree specializing in Engineering, Mathematics or Science is preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage the technical systems engineering life cycle: requirements analysis, configuring, design, development, testing, and deployment of systems. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot high‑level technical and non‑technical issues. Experience in evaluating, testing, deploying and maintaining both custom developed and third party software upgrades. Demonstrated ability in creating and maintaining system architecture and troubleshooting documentation. Experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic, and operational issues. Demonstrated ability to prepare plans and assessments, such as management engineering plans, integrated support plans, and implementation plans. The Systems Engineer labor category must perform the following functions and responsibilities at a minimum: Documents research, studies, and analyses in technical reports, briefings, and other presentations. Provides expertise in the application of state‑of‑the‑art technology to meet FAA mission goals and milestones. Provides technical assessments and recommendations via reports and briefings, including operational readiness. Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems. Directs overall system level testing. Provides expertise on all aspects of telecommunications engineering including design, engineering, configuration, test planning/development, test execution/analysis, performance optimization, and training. Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man‑machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution. This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States. Position Details Pay Rate / Range: $55-$62 The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
