Our smart solutions deliver value from pre-planning to long after the project is complete.OverviewThe Safety Representative position will work to ensure all employees uphold the core value of safety by implementing and maintaining J.F. Electric safety programs. A successful Safety Representative will develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management, and outside agencies during all phases of operation. This is a field position located onsite in a heavy industrial environment.Duties/Responsibilities:Conducts orientation activities such as completing and checking paperwork on new hires, validating required experience and licensure, and collecting I-9 documentationInvestigates incidents, injuries, damage to property, or other safety-related concernsCompletes incident reports, OSHA required documentation and other client reportsCritically assesses and evaluates hazards as well as taking corrective actions at the momentDocuments findings including Root Cause AnalysisCommunicates with leadership and field personnel the investigation findings and recommendations for how to prevent reoccurrencesVerifies corrective measures have been completed (including recommendations of the safety committee, leaders, and those that arise from the suggestion programs)Enforces safety standards, conducts safety audits, participates in client safety meetings or conference calls; conveys information from specific clients about their specific safety requirements on a specific job site or client's workCoordinates with others to enforce work procedures, rules, and regulations related to safetyCommunicates safety and health information at employee meetingsPosts safety communications in various locations as neededEstablishes and maintains relationships with local safety agencies and insurance carriers to foster good communication between the company and external influences on safetyCross-train in all facets of the Division, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and grow in responsibility and scope over time. The person in this role will uphold the culture of J.F. Electric, including relationship building with customers as well as general behavior on J.F. Electric or client premises or at J.F.
