The RN will care for patients across a broad age range, including newborns, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. The department manages a variety of high-acuity conditions, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The position requires an experienced ED nurse who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, and provide safe, timely, and patient-centered emergency care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient conditions. Provide nursing care for emergency patients across newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Manage patients experiencing stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Administer medications and manage critical-care infusions according to orders and facility protocols. Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition. Provide care involving pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmic medications, sedation, heparin, insulin, and other emergency medications. Assist with emergency procedures and stabilization of critically ill patients. Operate and utilize specialty emergency equipment as appropriate. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EPIC. Follow patient safety, infection control, and emergency department standards. Float to other areas as required.
