Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: AK RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have AK RN license in hand for Auto Offer Description: PCU RN with pending license accepted. Must complete the AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing. All applicants must have a valid AK RN license in hand for an auto offer. This assignment is for 13 weeks and requires night shifts, 4x12 hours. Weekend coverage may be required based on staffing needs. The unit is a step-down unit from ICU with diverse patient populations. Staffing involves a bedside RN, a Virtual RN, and a CNA for every patient. The bedside RN ratio is 1:4 and the CNA ratio is 1:6. The virtual nurse manages remote patient assistance, including admission and discharge processes. 30% of the patient population is cardiac-related, including CHF and MI patients. Additional patient care includes respiratory cases such as COVID, COPD, and asthma exacerbations. The unit cares for neuro and renal patients and those requiring higher-level monitoring. Staffing support includes interdisciplinary teams such as physical therapy and respiratory services. The facility is a Magnet facility and a Level II Trauma center. Travelers may float to lower acuity units and need to comply with unit care needs. All requests for time off should be made at the time of submission. The facility is committed to providing a conducive working environment for all staff. Individual time off will be approved based on operational needs.
