LABORATORY QUALITY SPECIALIST

This position is located at the main campus and involves travel throughout the week to assigned locations. It is an operational role reporting directly to the operational supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies (e.g., CAP, ODH, TJC, OSHA, FACT, FDA, EPA, AABB) in the assigned operational areas on the main campus and community hospitals. In collaboration with operational team leaders, supervisors, managers, administrators, Medical Directors, Laboratory Directors, and community hospital leadership, the specialist develops standardized operational programs across the health system. The role includes collecting and reviewing quality metrics to ensure operational standardization and regulatory compliance, analyzing data, preparing reports, reviewing compliance gaps, implementing process improvements, conducting audits, and acting as a quality and compliance educator and consultant to operational staff. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required. Experience: Minimum of three years as a Medical Technologist; managerial or leadership experience preferred; experience in quality assurance or auditing preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, or walk extensively; may require long periods of standing or walking. May involve driving distances within Ohio. Light lifting may be required.
