Lead Hospitalist Physician\n

Indiana | Full-Time

BAS Healthcare is assisting with the recruitment of a Lead Hospitalist Physician to join and help oversee an established hospital medicine program in Indiana. This role offers a combination of clinical practice and leadership responsibility , ideal for a hospitalist seeking professional growth while maintaining a predictable schedule and strong work–life balance. Lebanon, IN is just 30 minutes away from the city of Indianapolis!!!

7 days on / 7 days off schedule
\n
12-hour day shifts
\n
Mix of clinical care and hospitalist leadership responsibilities
\n
Opportunity to influence operations, quality, and team development

Clinical Responsibilities\n

\n
Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients
\n
Manage admissions, daily rounding on medical/surgical units and CCU, and discharges
\n -Help run codes on the unit with support of in-house intensivist and emergency room physicians.
\n
Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and care management teams
\n
Support patient-centered care initiatives and efficient throughput
-You would be overseeing 5 hospitalists.
\n -There is 24-hour APP coverage
\n -No night requirement for this role, but weekend coverage would be needed.

Leadership Responsibilities\n

\n
Serve as the clinical lead for the hospitalist team
\n
Provide day-to-day operational oversight and clinical support
\n
Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new providers
\n
Participate in quality improvement, utilization management, and patient safety initiatives
\n
Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing, and medical staff committees
\n
Support implementation of clinical protocols, policies, and best practices

Candidate Qualifications\n

\n
MD or DO
\n
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
\n
Eligible for or licensed to practice in Indiana
\n
Prior hospitalist experience required
\n
Leadership experience strongly preferred
\n
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
