Emergency Department Technician

Job Summary Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Patient Care Technician provides routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Healthcare Team. They assist day‑to‑day operations to keep the health center running efficiently and effectively, prepare patients for clinicians, transport patients, help obtain lab work and vital signs, conduct purposeful rounding, perform clerical duties, clean and prepare rooms for the next patient, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Give routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as needed. Assist day‑to‑day operations to keep the health center running efficiently and effectively. Prepare patients for clinicians. Transport patients, assist with obtaining lab work, vital signs, purposeful rounding, clerical duties, and clean and prepare rooms for the next patient. Education and Certifications Certificate of Healthcare – Required Professional Certification (EMT, CNA, MA) – Required Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required Experience 1-2 Years – Preferred Qualifications Comply with regulatory guidelines for the work area and professional practice. Communicate patient safety risks to appropriate providers. Perform interventions under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtain and document patient assessments according to hospital/department guidelines. Assist in procedures/exams as directed. Obtain necessary supplies, equipment, and/or personnel as needed. Communicate data by timely documentation and reporting of abnormal or patient status changes to RN/LPN. #J-18808-Ljbffr
