Quality Assurance Technician: Lena, Illinois

Our customer in Lena, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Quality Assurance Technician to work full-time on 3rd shift. In this role, you will support quality and food safety operations by ensuring proper handling, preparation, and sanitation of milk used in cheese production while following established procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

• Receive, ship, and transfer milk accurately into proper silos under the direction of the Milk Prep Supervisor.
• Standardize milk to the correct ratios based on the type of cheese being produced.
• Monitor and operate CIP (clean-in-place) systems for tanks, silos, vats, and production lines.
• Load, wash, and assist with milk trucks as required.
• Complete required quality and production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Follow all quality, safety, and sanitation procedures precisely.
• Work in a fast-paced environment requiring physical activity and attention to detail.
• Support quality assurance activities while maintaining compliance with food safety standards.

Quality Assurance Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. as required.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, noise, vibration, and humidity.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• No allergies to mold due to work with higher mold-content cheeses.
• Minimum height requirement of 5'7" (preferred 5'8") due to production equipment and rack heights.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in food manufacturing or quality environments preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently or as part of a team.

Pay for Quality Assurance Technician: $23.00/hour.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00pm-5:30am (end time flexible). January through September, schedules may be 3–4 days per week. Some weekends are required as needed.
