About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in high-risk labor and delivery License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM Must-Have: Epic charting experience required First-timers accepted Description: The position is for a high-risk labor and delivery registered nurse. The shift is nights, with a patient ratio of 1:1. All candidates are expected to have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. Candidates with first-time travel nurse experience are accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Certifications required include BLS and NRP. Candidates will float to postpartum if needed. The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts without penalty. The registered nurse will be responsible for the care of patients in labor and delivery. Special requirements include the ability to assist with cesarean births, postpartum tubal ligations, cerclage placement and removal, and water births. Experience with Epic charting is mandatory. The facility is a teaching hospital with a total of 317 staffed beds. The role involves nursing care for high-risk labor and delivery patients, including potential complications. Interdisciplinary support is available from various departments, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Candidates must comply with background checks, including fingerprinting if required. Travelers may need to apply for state licensing if not already obtained. Familiarity with special procedures and equipment relevant to labor and delivery is essential.
