The successful candidate will work directly with municipalities, engineers, water operators, business leaders, project stakeholders, and internal operations teams to develop estimates, pursue projects, manage successful bids, and promote the company's products and services.
Why This Role Is Unique:
This position isn't simply a desk-based estimating or sales role.

During this field experience, you will develop a practical understanding of:

The technical aspects of the company's services
That hands-on experience will ultimately help you become a stronger Estimator, Sales Engineer, and Project Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Estimating & Project Development:
Prepare detailed job-cost estimates for competitive bidding.
Review project requirements and identify potential costs, risks, challenges, and opportunities.
Inspect job sites to evaluate potential hazards, difficulties, logistical considerations, and competitive advantages.
Meet with clients to discuss existing projects, upcoming opportunities, and future needs.
Process successful bid contracts from award through project completion.
Coordinate equipment submittals, safety plans, material purchasing, subcontractors, and project documentation.
Develop final project lists and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Create and maintain organized, professional, and profitable projects.
Technical Sales & Business Development:
Sell and promote company products and services to existing and prospective customers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, engineers, water operators, city/business managers, and community leaders.
Conduct sales calls through phone, email, virtual communication, and in-person meetings.
Identify new project opportunities and help expand the company's municipal and industrial customer base.
Prepare professional proposals, work orders, purchase orders, invoices, reports, and related documentation.
Work closely with the Sales Manager, Operations Manager, sales team, and field personnel.
Field & Project Support:
Provide supervision and oversight on job sites.
Work alongside service and drilling crews to develop hands-on knowledge of company operations.
Visit active and prospective job sites throughout the service territory.
Communicate effectively with field employees, customers, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
Help identify and resolve technical, operational, scheduling, and project-related challenges.
CUSTOMER & MARKET FOCUS:
The company's customer base is approximately:
80% Municipalities 20% Heavy Industry
The strongest candidates will have experience working with municipal customers, particularly within the water industry.
Candidates with direct water well and/or pump experience are especially valuable.
For candidates who possess strong municipal sales experience but have limited water/well/pump knowledge, the company can provide assistance and training to help develop the technical side of the business.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Approximately 50% travel is required.
Travel patterns will vary depending on the season, project activity, and workload. This could include:
2-3 days per week on the road, or
Alternating weeks of travel, depending on business needs.
The primary service territory includes:
Ohio | West Virginia | Kentucky | Indiana
Travel will primarily involve customer meetings, sales calls, estimating, project development, job-site inspections, and project supervision.
