Receiving Clerk Job Description 

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the receipt of goods in a warehouse manufacturing environment. This role involves verifying incoming shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that materials are stored correctly. The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Maintain accurate records of received goods, including logging details into the inventory management system.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Ensure that received goods are stored in designated areas and follow proper storage procedures.
• Assist in inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Generate reports on received goods and inventory status as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Proficiency with inventory management software.
• Experience in tracking and managing inventory is crucial. This includes verifying incoming shipments against invoices and purchase orders and ensuring accurate cord-keeping.
• Familiarity with inspecting goods for damage and discrepancies is important.
• Strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining orderly storage areas and ensuring that items can be easily located.

• Effective communication with suppliers, delivery personnel, and other warehouse staff is necessary to resolve any issues with shipments.
• Accuracy in checking shipments and recording information is critical to avoid errors and ensure smooth operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
• Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
• Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
