Worksite: Vandergrift, PA 15690

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Pay Range: $22.17–$24.00/hour

Interview: Onsite Interview

PPE: Steel-toe shoes required.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Worker & Forklift Operator to support manufacturing and production operations. This position involves glass handling, production support, material handling, quality inspection, packaging, equipment operation, and forklift activities.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, assembly, or other industrial environments and be comfortable working with glass and production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate automated glass-cutting equipment to cut glass to specified sizes.

Manually separate individual glass sheets from larger glass sheets.

Load glass carts and stage materials for production.

Inspect incoming glass and completed insulated glass units (IGUs) for defects.

Use lift-assist equipment to move IGUs weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.

Place finished glass units onto A-frames or carts.

Work with Operations Supervisors and Engineering to identify equipment, process, and quality issues.

Build crates for storing and shipping completed IGUs.

Prepare finished products for shipment according to packaging instructions.

Perform basic operator maintenance and maintain cleanliness of production equipment.

Use basic hand tools to adjust or modify production equipment when needed.

Use suction-cup equipment to safely move large pieces of flat glass, sometimes with a second operator.

Complete Corning-sponsored forklift training and obtain forklift certification.

Follow all company safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Technology AAS degree is preferred.

Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred.

Prior forklift operation experience preferred.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Basic knowledge of hand tools.

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. when required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and work on a production floor for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Ability to handle and move large pieces of glass using appropriate equipment.

Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Steel-toe shoes are required.
