Certified Medical Assistant I, Full Time, Days, 9am-5pm, AMG Obstetrics/Gynecology, Martinsville, NJ

Certified Medical Assistant Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the functionality of practice operations, provides excellent patient care, and may perform additional administrative or clinical tasks as required. Principal Accountabilities Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools. Records medical information and test results; conducts patient interviews; takes and records vital signs; collects specimens; and administers medication under physician supervision. Assists with walk‑in and scheduled clinic visits, ensuring verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. Takes vital signs before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams. Assists with examinations by working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks. Collects and prepares laboratory samples by instructing patients or drawing blood as needed. Exhibits excellent communication, work ethic, active listening, adaptability to a fast‑pace environment, and maintains utmost professionalism at all times. Greets patients, welcomes them to the facility, and schedules appointments. Maintains medical records by recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms between visits. Prepares examination rooms, ensuring the space is ready for the patient, disinfecting equipment, and stocking supplies. Provides emotional support related to the patient’s clinical situation in accordance with the patient’s plan of care. Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent. National certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT. Or a precertification agreement must be signed if certification is expired or will be obtained within 60 days of employment. Preferred Associate’s degree in Medical Care or a related field. One year of experience in health care services. Two or more years of experience in an outpatient, ambulatory setting. Excellent communication and professional demeanor in a fast‑paced environment.
