Sr. Systems Admin-PT

Sr. Systems Admin Part‑time hybrid and remote 20‑40 hours per week. Onsite 2 days per week, 8 hours per day. Limited to a 4‑month project with potential to extend – June 2026 to September 2026. 5+ years of experience required. Primary Purpose To manage a team of System Administrators, integrate and manage server enterprise applications into the district's network environment. Supervisory Responsibilities Managing a team of System Administrators Education & Certification High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver’s license Preference for Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Certification Preference for Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate Preference for Microsoft Azure Certification Preference for Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Preference for CompTIA Server+ Preference for VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Preference for Jamf Pro Certifications Preference for Apple IT Certifications Preference for Google Workspace Certifications Preference for Linux/Unix/Ubuntu Certifications Preference for Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preference for ITIL Foundation Special Knowledge & Skills Proficiency in administering and managing server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux distributions Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) for creating and managing virtual machines Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, routing, and firewall configuration Strong scripting skills, especially PowerShell or other scripting languages, to automate routine tasks and streamline administrative processes Knowledge of server hardware components and ability to troubleshoot hardware-related issues Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds for real‑time performance monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning Experience with MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for configuration management, software deployment, and updates Proficient in managing and maintaining Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services Skill in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security and configuration management Knowledge of on‑premise email systems such as Microsoft Exchange and cloud‑based email solutions such as Office 365 Administration and optimization of Office 365 services, including SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Teams Understanding of security best practices, including single sign‑on (SSO) and multi‑factor authentication (MFA) Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and availability Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve server‑related issues efficiently Administration of Jamf Pro MDM automation and engineering Administration of Google Workspace MDM endpoint management and security SQL/MySQL database administration Managing contractors and consultants on a per‑project basis Experience In‑depth knowledge of Apple and Google device hardware, as well as server hardware including RAID configurations Linux integrations with Jamf Pro Server High‑level troubleshooting skills related to iOS, macOS, Linux, Unix, Windows, Windows Server, and Chrome OS Working knowledge of enterprise SAN integrations in an Active Directory environment Active Directory integrations with Apple devices In‑depth knowledge of Google Cloud Directory Sync services High‑level understanding of application management and policy‑based inheritance Working Conditions Mental Demands Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism Strong ability to multitask Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including occasional prolonged and irregular hours Able to solve complex problems with tight deadlines Communicating well in both oral and written form, complying with timelines Physical Demands / Environmental Factors Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm, or finger motion Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time Ability to lift 60 pounds Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material Additional Information All candidates are encouraged to apply.
