The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.Morenci is a unique company town where our employees and their families can reconnect with nature through hiking, fishing, camping, hunting and numerous parks. Our dedicated Parks and Recreation Division plans activities for people of all ages, making sure there's something for everyone to enjoy.What You Will DoUnder close supervision, assists in providing technical support and advice in Metallurgical testing and analysis at assigned site.Assists in Metallurgical studies and conducting analysesPrepares standard reports on Metallurgical or process issues and assists in recommending appropriate action to resolve or correct issuesAssists in reviewing new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocolsAssists in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipmentDevelops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignmentPerforms other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportBachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry or related Engineering disciplineKnowledge of the basic principles and methods used in Metallurgical and processing analysesAble to conduct research and analyze information or considerable difficulty to draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of programming languages such as PythonExperience with database management system such as SQL or similar platformsKnowledge of Power BI What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $75,000-$104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
